The
"Free for Education" Licence Mark
Want an easier method of getting your works widely
distributed and well known while still managing your copyright?
The research community has
been one of the first to utilise this new approach, as researchers are
keen to keep information freely available.

AEShareNet
has developed the FfE licence mark which simplifies the permission
process - all the owner has to do is affix the AEShareNet -FfE
licence mark which allows educators to *use* the material without
having to go through any formal process.
The
AEShareNet -FfE licence mark
can be used in two ways:
• by creators, who apply the AEShareNet
-FfE licence mark on (or in
association with) their material, to signify that the material can be
used under the FfE 'licence' conditions;
• by users, who reference the AEShareNet
-FfE licence mark licence terms to
signify the scope of permission they are seeking in relation someone
else's material.
Once
branded with the FfE Mark, the embedded metadata will ensure you can be
more easily discovered through search engines.
The
FfE Mark is one of a suite of six licence protocols available for
managing your copyright. The full suite can be viewed at www.aesharenet.com.au/CoreBusiness/
Four
of the licences have no costs incurred for use; and two have been
developed for those wanting commercial returns, exploitation or
incurring special conditions.
We
would value your participation in taking-up use of the new FfE Mark
– we would like to build a diverse range of applications to
use as exemplars. Should you wish to discuss this concept further
please contact our office.

Journal of
Research in Post-compulsory Education
This is an appeal for papers
for the Journal of Research in Post-compulsory Education, a UK journal.
From the last volume to date the journal has increased in size. So the
editor is looking for good work that fits the remit of the journal. I'd
be most grateful if you could prompt colleagues, researchers,
practitioners, research students - or even consider a contribution
yourself!
The journal of RPE publishes
a range of articles on all aspects of post-compulsory education.
